Meet The Characters

Stanley Wiggle

Stanley Wiggle is charming, witty and full of adventure. He seems to perceive not only what is present, yet also has sight of the past and also the future. He is a believer is all things kind, holding the gift of grace as something real and possible. He is the orchard's knight, but never bares a weapon.

Sara Spider

As Sara begins to weave her web, she ties lines with the precision of a sailor. Sara Spider is a climber. Her movements are pure and simple, as her thread easily passes between her legs and arms while she works. From a distance, it looks as if she were walking on air.

Praying Mantis

Praying Mantis has a mystical chant in all of his movements. No one can figure him out. In the valley and in the meadow, his mannerisms are always distinct. He and he alone would know home. No welcome mat, no place to send his mail. He can stand as still as a twig, or fly away faster than an Irish Jig. Companionship is only at his time and place of choosing. He never asks for anything, yet always seems to appear when needed, ready to help. The perfect friend, Praying Mantis blends in with any mood, delivering humor and wisdom, always using his strong back to support others. His gift is courage, compassion, and timing.

Blue Jay Pam

She is the orchard’s mother ship. Her gift of flight and of sight gives the orchard a vantage point like no other. She is the keeper of memories, safety, and lore. Her world is like that of an eagle, high and clear.

Johnny Squirrel

His tail is fluffier than his body. The youngest of his brothers and sisters, he always gets himself into some trouble. Climbing too high or leaping too far, he is a handful from near and far.

Sally Rabbit

A sage, with a fluffy tail, and bright eyes, Sally Rabbit is unique. Yet her home had seemed so plain until the day she met Stanley Wiggle. Her friendship with him is great fun, and so it is with all the others. She is ready to share in the lore of a valley before. Sally Rabbit hops high with the knowledge that she too is in this “meadow brigade”.
